A strategic locationoutside cyclone belt

A stable political environment and government policies which welcome and support local and foreign investment

Ideal central location in the Indian Ocean midway between the largest trading and manufacturing blocks of Asia and Europe

The investment component of the east3ROUTE initiative was integral to the whole east3ROUTE expedition in 2011. In 2012, the Investment Seminar was held for the first time as a stand-alone sub-event of the east3ROUTE. Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN) acted as the custodian and organiser of the first Investment Seminar and remains in the same role.

Hosted by Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal, the 2015 east3ROUTE Investment Seminar took place for the fourth year as a dedicated investment and trade promotion platform. This year saw the seminar being staged as a standalone event in the MahéIsland, Seychelles on the 31st July 2015 due to the geographic location of the island in respect to the other three countries in the bloc.

The Economic Report

The first edition of The east3ROUTE Economic Report was produced in 2013 and launched at the east3ROUTE Investment Seminar & Exhibition 2013, in eZulwini, Swaziland. The Economic Reports contains background information and the history of the east3ROUTE initiative. The report gives an analysis of the trade and investment environment looking into the economic environment, sectoral contributions the economy of each country, key exports and key products with potential to be traded between the regions. Investment opportunities are highlighted in the report.

For the 2015 edition of the east3ROUTE Investment Seminar, the economic report will be updated to include statistics and the political and economic environment of Seychelles. The updated report will be launched during the east3ROUTE Investment Seminar 2015.
